On your trip out to the North Shore, don't forget to stop at the North Shore Soap Factory, located in the historic Waialua Sugar Mill. Our spot is only a short drive out of Haleiwa town, and many visitors to the North Shore don't even know that it exists. It’s a hidden treasure and historical landmark worth seeing. Once the heart of the local economy, the Mill stands as a symbol, a tribute to the old Plantation days of Hawaii!
The mill stayed in operation up until 1996. Today you can find a number of attractive stores and small factories there, selling and producing local, unique creations. There is a farmer's market here on Saturday mornings. You can even go inside of the original refinery building, which is now the soap factory, and experience some preserved local history. The North Shore Soap Factory is so much more than a soap factory, it's a must-see attraction!
